A woman arrested in connection with the murder of "God's Banker" Roberto Calvi was a key witness at his inquest 20 years ago, it emerged today.

Scotland Yard detectives seized Odette Morris, 42, the woman who provided an alibi for Flavio Carboni who has been charged with Calvi's murder.

Calvi, called the God's Banker because of his connections with the Vatican, was found dead under Blackfriars Bridge in June 1982.

At first his death was put down as suicide but a second inquest then returned an open verdict. Earlier this year Italian police announced they believed Calvi was murdered.
