Out of my way: Posh pushes past Dash

It takes a brave man nowadays to come between Victoria Beckham and a camera.
And despite being her current musical mentor, Damon Dash discovered this to his cost.

As the struggling artist formerly known as Posh Spice paraded items from his Roca Wear clothes label, rapper Dash tried to get in on the act.

Victoria, 29, responded by giving him the brush-off in no uncertain terms.

First she placed a hand on his gold-chaininfested chest as if to push him away. Then, using her right shoulder to good effect, she stepped in front of him. And finally, as he beat a retreat, she posed triumphant hand on hips. The light-hearted contretemps happened during a fashion show at the London store, Selfridges.

Mrs Beckham was given a lengthy introduction by Dash before purposefully striding on to the stage. But it quickly became evident she was less than happy to be playing the role of model, rather than pop icon.

'Everyone had been kept waiting 50 minutes and the photographers were already getting quite irritable,' a source said.

'Damon Dash talked about how wonderful he was before introducing Victoria. She then walked on, stood there for about 30 seconds and walked off. The funniest moment was when Dash tried to go and stand next to her and she pushed him away as if to say, "This is my gig so clear off".'

Mrs Beckham, who has been frantically trying to resurrect her flagging pop career, has become increasingly frustrated at the lack of results.

One indication of this irritation came recently when she was at her London gym and a visitor innocently inquired if she had become a model for Roca Wear.

Without a touch of irony, she replied: 'A model? Do I look that unintelligent? I'm not a model, I'm a Spice Girl.'
