Bidding to bed internet virgin
Metro Last updated at 00:00am on 22.01.04A student claims to be auctioning her virginity on the Internet to fund her university studies.
The lesbian teenager, who uses the name Rosie Harmen, was offered up to £10,000 when she put an advert on the auction site eBay.
She attracted interest from all over the world and from other women. The 18-year-old, a first-year student at Bristol University, got more than 6,000 hits in three days before eBay pulled the auction.
She said: 'I need the money to study at university and I want to protest about the top-up fees the Government is introducing. My virginity is the only precious thing I have and can sell.'
