Bond St in the Bush

The £1.6 billion Westfield London mall, roughly the same size as Bluewater, is expected to open on 30 October. While only Louis Vuitton has been confirmed so far, the Evening Standard has learned dozens of other leading international brands are in "advanced talks" with developer Westfield.
Up to 50 are expected to open stores in the mall, making it the biggest cluster of such names in Europe.
Westfield said shoppers would see the same array of brands as in Bond Street, Fifth Avenue or the Champs ...lysées - but in the less-likely setting of "the Bush". Keith Mabbett, senior leasing executive, said: "The top brands worldwide are all talking to us. They are truly top-end names. There are one or two luxury shopping malls around in places like Hong Kong but in the context of a project of 1.5 millionsquare feet there will nothing like it in the world."
It will have one of Britain's biggest Marks & Spencer stores, which at 157,000sqft will be only slightly smaller than the chain's flagship branch at Marble Arch.
The other "anchor" tenants are House of Fraser, Debenhams, Next and Waitrose.
As well as the elite brands, The Standard can reveal the names of other retailers that have signed leases.
They include fashion chains Lacoste, Hugo Boss, Thomas Pink, Tommy Hilfiger, Duchamp and Jaeger; designer Leona Edmiston, shoe retailer Schuh; lingerie specialists Intimissimi and Yamamay and crystal company Swarovski.
Westfield is also in talks with "at least half a dozen" foreign retailers from countries such as Spain, Turkey and France that would be new to Britain.
The 45-acre site will be divided into a series of zones to help shoppers navigate. As well as the designer area, there will be sections devoted to the home, the family and to "essential services" such as banks and mobile phone shops. Mr Mabbett said he was looking for a musical instruments retailer and a traditional sports shop but it was hard to find suitable tenants.
Westfield hopes to have tenants signed for the 310 shops and 50 or so restaurants and bars by June. That would mean the centre was fully occupied by opening day.
A 14-screen cinema is due to open early next year, but that may be cut to 12 screens if plans for an IMAX-style 3D cinema come to fruition.
