Boris drops big Henley election hint

Boris Johnson has given his strongest indication yet that he will stand again as Henley MP despite his attempt to become the capital's Mayor.

The Tory candidate suggested he would fight the Oxfordshire seat even if the next general election fell on the same day as the London poll.

He admitted it would be the "most appalling wrench" to give up his constituency and said if the local party wanted him to run he was "not going to let them down".

Critics claim Mr Johnson's hopes of holding on to Henley mean he is not taking the Mayoral job seriously.
