A law student has died after being hit by a bus while on an exchange trip to America.
Lisa Moran, 20, was out jogging at the Chapel Hill campus in North Carolina when the accident happened.
Police said Miss Moran had been wearing an iPod while running. She did not stop for traffic, lost her footing and fell under the bus.
She had been due to return home in a few weeks to resume her studies at Glasgow University.
Instead, her grieving parents, Fraser and Carolyn, had to fly to the U.S. to take her body back to their home in Paisley.
Today, her parents paid tribute to their daughter.
Her father said: 'Lisa was beautiful, fiercely intelligent and fun-loving. She was loved by all who knew her and it is a terrible loss to all of us.
'She was having a great time in America and had made a lot of new friends out there. Lisa was enjoying every minute of her time in America, she was as happy as she had ever been in her life.'
Mr Moran, who has two other children, Kevin, 17, and Natalie, nine, said it was a tragic accident.
Tragedy The accident happened at the UNC's Chapel Hill campus
'It was a very unfortunate accident that nine times out of ten would not have happened,' he said. 'Lisa was out jogging, came to a crossroads - and did not see the bus coming.'
Since the accident last Thursday, staff at the University of North Carolina have paid tribute to the popular student.
In a message on the UNC website, Jack Boger, dean of the school of law, said everyone had been 'deeply saddened'.
Her page on the Bebo social networking site has also been flooded with messages of condolence.
One read: 'Life is so cruel to take you so soon.'
Another read: 'I feel sick. Can't begin to imagine how your family must be feeling. So so bad.'
A third said: 'You have touched so many lives and no one will ever forget you sweetie.'
Miss Moran herself had recently left a message on the site saying: 'Currently living it up in the sunny city of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.'
The sport-loving student, who enjoyed playing squash and had been a ski instructor, said she had a new passion in basketball.
She also said she enjoyed snow boarding, had been white water rafting, and a skydive was next on her list of adventure sports.
Miss Moran was in America on a six-month exchange as part of her third-year studies for a law and business degree.
The former pupil and head of year at St Andrew's Academy in Paisley had intended to complete her degree on her return to Scotland before pursuing a law career, possibly in North Carolina.
Her funeral will be held on Friday in Paisley. Police said the bus driver will not face charges.
