A talented young British musician died after falling off the roof of a house in his sleep while on a language course in Germany.
Ross Kinnear, 20, plunged 25ft to his death from the top of a house in Berlin after a night out with friends.
The guitarist, who was planning to go to university this year, suffered horrific head and internal injuries and was rushed to hospital by ambulance.
Tragic: Ross Kinnear died after falling from a rooftop in Berlin
Doctors fought to save the youngster from Salisbury, Wilts, but he tragically died a few hours later.
Today friends described Ross as an 'incredible person' who was 'intelligent, committed and passionate' about music, as they paid tribute to the popular student.
His parents have travelled to Germany and it is expected that his body will be repatriated next week, when an inquest will be opened at Salisbury Coroner's Court.
German newspapers reported that Ross had climbed up on the roof of the uninhabited house in the Kreuzberg area of Berlin with a 19-year-old pal last Saturday night.
The pair fell asleep on top of the building, which was still under construction, but Ross rolled off the roof in his sleep and plummeted onto a concrete slab below.
According to German police, Ross, who was spending the summer taking a language course in the city, had been drinking alcohol prior to the accident.
Paying tribute to the young bassist from Salisbury rock group Go Vegas, bandmate Connor Christie, 18, said: "Ross was an incredible person.
"The band was all about him - he was such a great character and had this fantastic stage presence. The crowd loved him.
"His art was thought-provoking, intelligent and meaningful.
"He changed the lives of hundreds of people with his own love of life. He was quirky, spontaneous and everyone loved his bounce.
"He was intelligent, committed and passionate about the band."
Hundreds of pals have also joined online tribute forums in memory of the arts student.
On one of the websites, a friend wrote: "One of our closest friends, Ross is a person who will never be forgotten.
He was just adored by so many people." Ross grew up in Salisbury and attended Wyvern College and Peter Symonds College in Winchester, Hants, before going to Bournemouth Arts Institute in Dorset.
He was spending the summer at a German language school and planned to go to university in the autumn.
Ross, who was also a keen photographer, had made several friends during his time in Germany and had been out with them on the night he died.
His many friends in Britain are planning a candlelit vigil in his memory on Friday night.
