Toddler Daniel Betley was fighting for his life in a Barcelona hospital today after falling from a hotel balcony at the popular resort of Cambrils, near Tarragona.
Little Daniel, from Leighton Buzzard, Beds, who will be two years old on August 10, fell from the first floor balcony of the Hotel Best in the resort on Tuesday evening.

He suffered serious head injuries. A medical helicopter flew him the 87 miles to the Vall d'Hebron hospital in the Catalan capital.
His mother, Louise, was today keeping a vigil at the intensive care unit.
Daniel's condition was described 'very serious'.
Mrs. Betley had left him and his four year old brother in the care of their grandfather while she went downstairs to reception.
She had only been away from the room for a few minutes when Daniel fell from the balcony which overlooks the hotel's pool.
It is believed Miss Betley is a single woman bringing up three young boys on her own.
Tonight neighbours in Leighton Buzzard, Beds, said Miss Betley, who is in her late 20s, had gone on holiday with her parents at the start of the week.
One neighbour said: 'The boys are a bit of a handful. They are aged two, four and six and she looks after them on her own, Her partner has not been around for a long time.'
She lives with the boys in a terraced housing association home in Leighton Buzzard.
She has lived there for 13 years and holds sales for the National Chilbirth Trust.
Another neighbour said 'We haven't seen her boyfriend around here for a long time. I think she went to Spain with her mum on Monday at the start of the school holidays.'
Miss Betley's car was parked outside her parent's detached home in Leighton Buzzard tonight.
The house was locked and a neighbour said he believed the family had gone away.
Her father's name is Anthony.
