Brown quizzed over 'dossier on Heathrow rebels'

Gordon Brown was today urged to reveal whether government officials passed files on opponents of a third Heathrow runway to the police.

Uxbridge Conservative MP John Randall asked Mr Brown at Prime Minister's Questions whether dossiers on John McDonnell, Labour MP for Hayes and Harlington, and himself were handed to police. The MPs are leading campaigners against Heathrow expansion.

Mr Brown said: "Any allegation that he makes will of course be investigated but this is not something that has been brought to my attention."

A DfT spokesman said: "The suggestion that individuals had their details added to a database of troublemakers' is untrue. No database exists, nor have details been passed to the police."
