But Prince Charles obviously needs to start a little closer to home - with his wife.
The Duchess of Cornwall insisted on taking a private jet to the Greek islands on Monday, leaving a hefty "carbon footprint" in her wake.

The Duchess refused to take a scheduled flight, opting for a private plane according to aides
She apparently ignored pleas from her husband's aides to catch a "greener" scheduled flight.
The rest of the holiday is equally sinful, as far as the environment goes. She is spending a week on a 170ft yacht which guzzles 100 gallons of fuel an hour.
Camilla is a guest of the Greek billionaire Spiros Latsis, who arranged for the private jet to ferry
her and two of her closest friends from RAF Lyneham to a secluded airfield in Greece.
The Duchess, 59 - who had a hysterectomy in March - told her husband that the private flight was necessary for health reasons.
Prince Charles can hardly complain, however. In March, despite vowing to reduce his carbon footprint, he took a train to an engagement but had a Range Rover follow behind.
Senior aides said that many factors are considered when arranging travel, including, in this case, "consideration to the Duchess's recuperation".
