The German keeper will return for Arsenal tonight against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League but has no long-term future at the club.
Sven-Goran Eriksson is still looking for experience to shore up his back line, having used youngsters Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart in goal so far.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is confident enough in Manuel Almunia's form to allow Lehmann, 38, to leave but said: "We have not been in touch with anybody.
"I can't guarantee he will be here for the second half of the season but I can't make that guarantee about anybody.
"For all of us the only target is to do well for the club - and we can only do that if we perform well.
"His long-term future depends on, when you are 38, what you call a longterm future. We haven't spoken about that.
"Jens has a one-year contract and that is not a long contract."
