City closes as 6,500 swap ties for trainers

More than 6,500 people took to the closed streets of the City for a 5k run last night.

The Standard Chartered Great City Race is the only time such a large swathe of the City is closed to traffic.

Supported by the Standard, the race saw 400 teams from banks, law firms, insurers, accountants and the media taking part.

The winner was Phil Wicks, a Legal and General claims administrator, who finished in 14min 16secs - 10 seconds more than his winning time last year.

Deya Rivera Luna of JP Morgan was the first woman home in 18 minutes 21 seconds.
