Frail Mrs Stokes - who had seven grandchildren and walked with a stick - was attacked on a Sunday afternoon in February this year.
She had been walking from a shop in Salisbury Road, Ealing, west London, where she had lived for 60 years.
The pair pleaded guilty today to manslaughter.
Lotay, of Harrow, north west London, was jailed for 10 years and Ali, of Northolt, was jailed for nine-and-a-half years.
Ali also admitted three robberies and three offences of handling stolen goods. Lotay admitted four robberies.
