Chelsea skipper Terry was due to have a scan on the injury today after leaving Emirates Stadium with his foot in a brace. He is expected to be ruled out for the Christmas period.
Arsenal midfielder Eboue was booked for the tackle and he had to be withdrawn later in the game with a knee injury. But he said sorry to Terry after the game.
Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou, Eboue's Ivory Coast team-mate, said: "I told Emmanuel that it was a red card because he did it on purpose, but he denied that.
"He said sorry to John. He didn't mean to do it but to apologise was a nice thing to do.
"John will be a big loss for us and is very important to the squad. We will miss him and it will be difficult to do it without him but we have the players."
Ricardo Carvalho may avert a defensive crisis at Chelsea as he is close to a return after injury. Their only other recognised centre-backs are Alex and Tal Ben-Haim, who has struggled since joining from Bolton.
However, Kalou suggested there are other areas Chelsea need to sharpen up on to get back into the title race.
He said: "Arsenal deserved the result. We didn't set out to play defensively. We played the formation we always play but they kept the ball well and maybe they were too quick."
