Enough! After 14 tempestuous years, Marco's wife finally files for divorce

Over seven years, the wife of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has thrown glasses of wine over him, accused him of infidelity and dumped his prized collection of hunting trophies on the street.

But now, Mati Pierre White has decided that enough is enough - and has instigated divorce proceedings against her husband.

The chef's third wife has been his companion for 14 years and is mother to his three children.

Neither side has been willing to comment on the split, but Spanish-born Mati, 42, has long complained to friends that the 45-year-old Michelin-starred chef is never at home and prefers to spend his time shooting at the Wiltshire estate of film director Guy Ritchie.

Pierre White has been known to get up at 4am, drive to Berkshire to spend an hour or two hunting and be back in his restaurant by 10am.

The rows - and there have been many - were spectacular. In January, after he returned from a shooting trip, his wife threw wine over him in front of startled diners at Frankie's, his Italian Bar and Grill in London's Knightsbridge.

The following month, she spent a night in a police cell after being accused of assaulting a diner at the same restaurant.

She had allegedly lashed out at a male customer who criticised her for allowing her children to drink alcohol.

The victim later withdrew the assault allegation and Mati was released without charge.

In a further fit of pique nine months ago, she ripped all of her husband's hunting trophies off the wall of their West London home and dumped them in the middle of the street. Their marriage has also been beset by rumours of his infidelity. Last year, diners at Luciano, the chef's flagship restaurant in St James's, were astonished when Mati stormed in one lunchtime and fired Bernadetta, a waitress whom she accused of sleeping with her husband, an allegation he denied. Mati is said to have screamed: "Pack your bags and go now! You are the second waitress my husband is ****ing." The waitress was later reinstated.

The Mail on Sunday also revealed last July how Mati felt frustrated at the amount of time her husband, thought to be worth £40million, was spending with former EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon.

"She has talked about divorcing Marco before but this time she means it,' said a friend.

The assets thought to be at stake in an eventual split include his chain of restaurants and the house in Holland Park, valued at £7million.

Mati Pierre White declined to comment yesterday, while a spokesman for Marco Pierre White said he had no statement to make.
