The awards are presented to those companies and organisations who have done the most to embrace contactless technology in their daily operations.
The award, collected by Charlie Edelman - Evening Standard Head of Marketing - was in recognition of the hugely successful reward card scheme, now in its second year.
"Eros offers our readers the cheapest most convenient way to purchase the Evening Standard and we've done that by launching the first ever contactless EFT network with the help of our technology partners including Lloyds TSB Cardnet and TS3", she said after receiving the award.
"Eros also gives Card holders access to over 30 exclusive reader offers - so it's a great all round package."
Steve Atkins, CEO of Krowne Communications, owner of Contactless Intelligence Monkey Awards, said: "Considering that so many regional newspapers are having to compete with urbanite-orientated' free commuter papers and the closure of a variety of newspapers that have failed to adapt to modern times, it is encouraging and refreshing to see one of the last bastions of journalistic integrity embrace technology as they market themselves to a new generation. The Evening Standard truly deserve this Monkey for their work with the Eros Card."
