Faith Brown collapses during show

Comedian and impressionist Faith Brown has collapsed during her Edinburgh Fringe show.

The performer appeared to faint and slumped to the ground just 25 minutes into the production of 'Faith Brown and her Boys in the Buff' at the Pleasance theatre.

The show was immediately stopped and she was seen by a doctor.

The actress has also been forced to cancel her one-woman show Faith Brown up Front, which charts her career. Her spokesman Kevin Wilson said the star was keen to return to work as soon as possible.

He said: "Faith is desperately sad to let down any of her fans.

"Faith is an old pro from the school of 'The Show Must Go On' variety and is devastated not to be performing her two shows."

She has now been ordered to rest at home and her understudy Anna Stolli has taken over her role in the production in the venue Pleasance One.

Faith Brown was born Irene Carroll but changed her name as she launched her career in showbusiness.

She started out as a singer and moved into television with appearances on "Who Do You Do" and "Ken Dodd's world of Laughter" and later "The Faith Brown Chat Show."

In 2001 she appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard.

And in 2006 she became the third celebrity to be voted off "I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here".
