Elizabeth Cooke: Her father has been charged with manslaughter over her death
A farmer was charged with manslaughter yesterday over the quad bike death of his daughter.
Elizabeth Cooke, seven, was riding behind her father Gary's Range Rover on a country lane when her machine was hit by another Range Rover going the other way.
The accident happened near Blackmore in Essex last Boxing Day. Elizabeth, who had been given the quad bike for Christmas, died from her injuries.
The other driver was arrested at the time of the incident, but released without charge.
Post-mortem tests showed that Elizabeth, who died in hospital, suffered multiple injuries.
Her father was arrested in January and released on bail while police investigated 'all the circumstances' of the incident.
He was charged today after reporting to a police station and released on bail pending his court appearance.
Mr Cooke, 46, who runs an organic egg farm, was bailed by police to appear before magistrates on July 31.
Flowers left at the scene of the fatal accident in Blackmore, Essex, on Boxing Day. Seven-year-old Elizabeth Cooke suffered multiple injuries in the head-on collision
