Feeling lucky? You should be if you look like 'the Lottos'

Meet Mr and Mrs Lotto, owners of the luckiest faces in Britain.

To mark the 10,000th jackpot winner of the National Lottery - whose slogan used to be "It Could Be You" - operator Camelot has come up with these photofits of two typical winners.

They have used similar techniques to those employed by the police to create images of suspects.

Reasons to smile: Mr and Mrs Lotto

But instead of picking out individual facial features to resemble a particular person, Camelot blended together attributes to create a composite of an "average" face.

The features were taken from dozens of middle-aged winners. These lucky people have all won between £500,000 and £15million.

That's surely enough cash to make up for any worries Mr Lotto might have about his receding hairline and the touch of grey at his temples - if not his passing resemble to Paul Daniels.

And some of Mrs Lotto's money would surely go on pampering herself - judging by her dramatic red lipstick, she quite clearly takes pride in her appearance.

It's likely the couple come from Essex - the Ilford (IG) and Romford (RM) postcode areas have achieved an Essex-double, staying at the top of the annual list of lucky Lottery hotspots for the last three years.

After their win, Mr and Mrs Lotto are most likely to splash out on a new home.

They now live in a detached four or five-bedroom house within 20 miles of their previous home - proving that even with all that money, friends and family are hard to leave behind.

Mind you, seeing loved ones who live further away isn't going to be a problem, as the Lottos now own an average of six cars.

They are most likely to plump for upmarket saloons, rather than anything too fast or outrageous. BMW is their favourite make, followed by Mercedes, Land Rover and Range Rover.

They take between two to four breaks a year, with the U.S. and Spain topping the list of favourite destinations.

And they are both generous and philanthropic - they will have given money to family and friends and made a charitable donation.

According to Camelot, the couple's ordinary appearance is no coincidence - they say winners are a varied bunch.

A spokesman said: "There are now 10,000 lucky people across the UK who have won a share of the Lotto jackpot.

"So don't be surprised if your next-door neighbours look just like our average winners - it's ordinary people who genuinely do win."

However, they do admit that some professions are luckier than others.

Construction workers, such as builders and labourers, have had most success in winning the jackpot, followed by those who work in administration and management.

But perhaps undertakers should think again before buying a ticket - funeral directors were the least lucky profession in the top 40.

The spokesman added: "When it comes to the luckiest professions, the range of different jobs really proves that people from all walks of life have won the Lotto jackpot."

The analysis of the 10,000 winners revealed some other fascinating statistics.

Around a fifth of those who have hit the jackpot were individual winners of £1million or more. The other 80 per cent were in syndicates.

The average Lotto jackpotwinning ticket is worth a massive £2,136,956.

But once that is shared among the members of a syndicate, the average jackpot winner actually receives a more modest £702,417.
