Four teenagers charged with murdering Shakilus Townsend

Four teenagers were tonight charged with the murder of 16-year-old Shakilus Townsend.
The victim was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed in an attack in Thornton Heath, south London, last Thursday. He died the next day.
Tyrell Ellis, 18, of Springfield Road, Thornton Heath, two male youths aged 17 and 16, and a 15-year-old female have been charged with murder, Scotland Yard said.

All four remained in custody and would appear at Sutton Magistrates Court today, a Yard spokesman said.
A fifth person arrested - a 22-year-old man - has been bailed to return to a south London police station on a date in August, pending further inquiries.
