George records gay song

Pop star George Michael has recorded a song especially for his gay fans.

The star said it was about time he made a record "for the boys" and has dedicated album track Flawless to his gay audience.

Michael, 40, spent years being secretive about his sexuality but came out after he was arrested for lewd conduct in a Los Angeles public toilet in 1998.

"It's about time I made a record for the boys really, isn't it?" he said. "This is definitely a big boystown record.

"I think there will be people dancing around their handbags to this one. The gay clubs will love this one."

Disco track Flawless is included on his current album Patience.

In the interview for radio station Magic FM, Michael said that his next project would be a duets album featuring some of the world's greatest divas.

He did not reveal the identity of his singing partners but said: "So far I have got two in mind, which is very exciting and I would be honoured with either of them."

Michael had a number one hit in 1987 when he duetted with Aretha Franklin on I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me).

Fans should be able to get their hands on the duets album for free.

Michael recently told how he would put all future releases on the internet, with fans able to make an optional donation to charity in exchange for downloading the tracks.

The star was talking to Fame Academy head Richard Park and the interview will be aired on Magic on May 3.
