Goal fish Thierry shows his finishing power

He leaps like a salmon to nod in at the far post ... and the fans go wild.

But "Thierry Henry" doesn't pull his shirt over his head to celebrate.

Instead he swims a few victory laps around the tank in the first football match in Britain to be played by goldfish.

Henry and opponent "Peter Crouch" - whom he went on to beat 2-1 - were trained by wildlife film-maker Matt Thompson.

He taught them to associate a mini football with getting food.

Once they learned that pushing the ball into a goal earned them a reward, they were ready to compete.

Arsenal fan Mr Thompson, 40, said: "I discovered there's a whole fish-training community out there but I wanted to take it up a notch."

To watch the fish and other animal antics, tune in to Will Work For Nuts on Five on Friday 2 November at 7.30pm.
