'I don't want to be thought of as a monster,' says the call girl who brought down Eliot Spitzer, America's Mr Clean
14 March 2008
She spoke out about the scandal for the first time as prosecutors considered bringing criminal charges against the disgraced "Mr Clean", Eliot Spitzer.
"I just don't want to be thought of as a monster," said Miss Dupre, a petite brunette who called herself "Kristen" for her assignation with Spitzer.

She has been holed up in her £2,500-a-month Manhattan apartment since the scandal broke on Monday.
She said she had hardly slept since her illicit "date" with the governor became front page news around the world.
Spitzer is accused of paying her more than £2,000 for sex at a Washington hotel on the night before Valentine's Day.
"This is a very difficult time - it's complicated," she told the New York Times, the day after 48-year-old Spitzer announced his resignation with his wife, Silda, 50, at his side.
Spitzer, a father of three daughters, is suspected of spending up to £40,000 on call girls over the past decade.
U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia last night denied any deal had been struck with the state governor to guarantee him immunity in return for his resignation.

Prosecutors are considering bringing charges against him for offences ranging from money laundering and tax evasion to soliciting prostitution and transporting a prostitute from one state to another by paying for Miss Dupre's train ticket to Washington.
She wouldn't discuss her meeting with Spitzer or say when she started working for the escort agency he used, the Emperors VIP Club.
But her MySpace page provides a window into her life as she went from a broken home in New Jersey to a music career in the big city.
She writes: "I have been alone. I have abused drugs. I have been broke and homeless. But, I survived, on my own. I am here, in NY because of my music."
In another posting she writes: "The past few months have been a rollercoaster with so-called friends, lovers and family but it is something you have to deal with and confront in order to move on."
"What destroys me strengthens me" is the slogan next to a photo of her, although the page makes no mention of her illicit job.
Other photographs show her at various places, including in a bikini on a boat in the South of France.
Her mother, Carolyn Capalbo, 46, said she was "shell-shocked" when she learned of the scandal.
"She's a very bright girl who can handle someone like the governor," she said. "She obviously got involved in something that was much bigger than her."
