I'm leaving my family for a fresh start, says the mother wrongly jailed for killing her babies

A woman who was wrongly jailed for killing her two baby sons has walked out on her husband and daughter "to make a fresh start".
Angela Cannings has been unable to rebuild her life after having her convictions quashed and has left husband Terry and ten-year- old Jade to live nearby.
She is believed to have been deeply affected by the death of Sally Clark, who was similarly convicted and freed, after spiralling into depression and becoming a heavy drinker.

Both Mrs Cannings and her husband have suffered from depression in recent years.
Further strain is said to have been put on the marriage by a former prison friend of Mrs Cannings who began harassing the couple after she was released.
Free: Angela and husband Terry leave the court of appeal after her conviction was overturned
Mrs Cannings, 43, who lost three of her four babies to cot death, was jailed for life in April 2002 for the murder of seven-week-old Jason in 1991 and 18-week-old Matthew in 1999.
She was freed in December 2003 after the evidence of controversial paediatrician Professor Roy Meadow was totally discredited.
On Wednesday she confirmed that she has moved out of the family home in Saltash, Cornwall.
She said: "I've left the house but I'm still living nearby. My primary concern is Jade and having time with her.
"We have tried to make a go of it but Terry still has major problems with depression and it came to the point where I was fearing for my own mental health."
Mrs Cannings's was the second infant death case to be overturned in 2003 after Professor Meadow was discredited.
In January that year, solicitor Sally Clark had her conviction for murdering her two baby sons quashed by the Court of Appeal.
Mrs Clark, 42, died of natural causes in March.
Mrs Cannings told friends she had been deeply affected by Sally's death.
She said she was feeling "very down" and had decided she wanted to "start afresh and live on her own".
A friend said: "Angela was hit hard by Sally's death and she said she felt really down.
Tragic: Matthew, left, died aged 18 months. Jason, right, was seven months old when he died
She said she didn't want to end up like Sally Clark and get dragged down in a deeper depression and drinking - she believes living on her own might be the answer.
"She said she did not want to carry on living with Terry because they were not helping each other.
"She just felt she had to get out and make a completely fresh start. There have been problems between them for many years."
In her book, Against all Odds, Mrs Cannings revealed how difficult it had been to re-establish a relationship with her daughter.
The pair's enforced separation meant that Jade became much closer to her father than her mother and suffered from a condition called "separation anxiety".
Sally Clark, who died in March
Mother and daughter are said to be "angry" with each other for missing four years of their lives together while Mrs Cannings was in custody.
To compound her problems, Mrs Cannings recently had to deal with pressures from a former prisoner whom she befriended while in jail.
52-year-old Mr Cannings confirmed that the couple were separating for a six-month trial period.
He said: "Our separation is complicated and goes way back.
"I do not want to go into detail but ever since Matthew died a lot of people and authorities have put a lot of pressure on this marriage.
"Obviously we have been through some difficult times in the past and Sally Clark's death had a serious effect on my wife."
He added: "There was a third party interfering greatly in our relationship. It is all very sad."
The "third party" is former prisoner Rose Swan, who was released in December 2006 when Court of Appeal judges overturned her conviction for murdering her abusive boyfriend.
She had nowhere to live so Mrs Cannings allowed her to move in with her family.
Mrs Cannings has told how Miss Swan, 47, helped her "survive" in prison but also suffered from "depression and breakdowns".
Once Miss Swan had moved in with Mr and Mrs Cannings she began causing problems for them both, according to friends.
"When Angela had finally had enough and asked her to leave, she began stalking and harassing Angela and Terry," said a source close to the couple.
Miss Swan was accused of harassing Mrs Cannings after she made phone calls and sent text messages to her and was abusive towards her husband.
In March this year, Bodmin magistrates bound over Swan to keep the peace for 12 months and she is since thought to have moved to Surrey.
"She was being a nightmare," said one source close to the family.
"It was as if she wanted to split Terry and Angela up by being such a nuisance.
"Maybe now she has succeeded. But Terry and Angela's problems go back many years."
