Inside a paedophile's lair: Chilling image of pervert caught in police child porn raid
05 June 2008
Sitting in his leather chair, surrounded by empty bottles of wine, piles of rubbish and discarded newspapers the man accused of being a paedophile stares implacably back at the camera.
Arrested for child porn offences he is just one of seventy individuals that have been arrested during Australia’s latest crackdown on child pornography – Operation Centurion.
Police say that more arrests are likely during the operation which has seen well-respected public figures as policemen and teachers remanded in custody for serious child porn offences.

The raids come after a six month investigation into paedophile communities online and how they trade images of child pornography on the internet.
Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty said some of the images showed children being abused.
"These are not children in passive poses," Keelty told local television. "You will see more arrests, the investigations are continuing."
Police said the investigation started when a hacker infiltrated a respectable European website and placed 99 explicit images of young girls from eastern Europe, the US and Paraguay.
The site got 12 million hits worldwide in the three days that followed and police traced some of those back to home addresses in Australia.
