Jackson wore a red shirt with embroided leafs, two chunky belts and black trousers with a red stripe down the leg to the ceremony at the Aladdin hotel on the famous Vegas strip. On his feet he also wore sparkling silver boots.

Earlier on at the event packed with excited Jacko fans, one fan broke through security to get up close to her idol.

Another fan of the eccentric musician wore a t-shirt against British TV interviewer Martin Bashir.

He was handed the key by Mayor Oscar Goodman and was on stage for 20 minutes before leaving.

"It really was Jackson mania, but he seemed very happy about it all," said an onlooker.
