So Christine Hilliard settled for calling her love rival a 'cheap slut' instead. In writing. To 50 neighbours.
The 27-year-old nursery nurse was devastated to discover her fiance Paul Muldoon, 28, was having an affair with 25-year-old Jenny Kinch, a single mother he met on the school run.

Hell hath no fury: Christine Hilliard typed dozens of letters describing Miss Kinch as a 'cheap slut and a man stealer' and posted them to all the neighbours
She had also got to know Miss Kinch, welcoming her into their home, having chats over coffee and accepting her help to organise her son's birthday party.
Then she discovered a romantic text message on Mr Muldoon's phone - which revealed her man and friend were having an affair.
Outraged, she typed dozens of letters describing Miss Kinch as a 'cheap slut and a man stealer' and posted them to all the neighbours.
She threw Mr Muldoon out of the family home before bagging up his clothes and dumping them on Miss Kinch's garden five doors up.
Yesterday, Miss Hilliard was unrepentant.
"That innocent-looking bitch is an evil man stealer who has taken away the father of my two boys,' she said at her home in Weston-super-Mare, Avon.
"It makes me sick that I invited her into my home and let her children play with mine while all along she had one thing in mind.

Fiance: Paul Muldoon and lover Jenny Kinch, described by by Ms Hilliard as a 'cheap slut and a man stealer'
"She couldn't find a nice guy of her own so she stole mine instead."
Mr Muldoon, a barman, asked Miss Hilliard to marry him after he had a lifesaving heart transplant in 2005.
Pregnant at the time with their second child, she gave up her job to nurse him.
Miss Kinch moved into a house nearby with her two children in September last year.
"I knew they had become close on the school run," Miss Hilliard said. "My son came home one day and said that her daughter had better toys. I asked Paul about it and he said he had gone for a cup of coffee after picking the children up.
"I didn't doubt him to start with - we had a great relationship. I trusted him."
But she became less confident when Mr Muldoon started going to the pub and sleeping over at a 'friend's house'.
He was actually sneaking round the corner to Miss Kinch's home.
Increasingly suspicious, Miss Hilliard checked the messages on his phone.
She found one to someone listed as 'Sid' saying: "I was a bit drunk last night, that'll explain the soppiness. I love you. xx"
She rang the number, Miss Kinch answered and the game was up. Then she wrote her letters of revenge.
"Just wanted everyone in the street to have a good look at Jenny Kinch, the innocent looking bitch with the two young girls, and realise what she is really like," the letter began before explaining it all in toe-curling detail.
Last night, Miss Kinch branded Miss Hilliard a 'bunny boiler' and claimed she had been the victim of a harassment campaign.
"There was instant chemistry with Paul and that is something you can't help or resist," she said.
Mr Muldoon, now living with his mother nearby, said: "I hadn't been happy with Christine for a long time and would have left her anyway."
