Keane slams card appeals

The Tottenham striker, who returned to action in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, is still furious about missing the previous three games through suspension after being sent off by Phil Dowd against Birmingham for a challenge on Fabrice Muamba.
Spurs' appeal was rejected by the Football Association's disciplinary commission, even though television replays showed Keane had won the ball.
Juande Ramos's side fell foul of the FA again when an appeal against Didier Zokora's red card at Manchester City on Tuesday was turned down.
Keane said: "Obviously you have to ask the question, is there a point to the whole thing? I think the whole country agreed my challenge wasn't a red, but for some reason the people that looked at it thought it was. For it not to get rescinded was disappointing, but I didn't even have a proper case. I just had to write a letter and that really annoyed me. If you could talk to these people it will be a lot better for everyone.
"I think someone should decide if there is an appeal process at all because it seems to me that if you do appeal you won't get it overturned regardless."
Keane had an unhappy return to action, having his penalty saved by Manuel Almunia and he wasted a glorious chance, hitting the bar from close range. But he said: "It takes a lot to get me down."
Spurs will make an offer of £7million for Ajax defender Urby Emanuelson, having had a £5.5m bid for the 21-year-old rejected. They also have agreed a deal worth up to £3m for 18-year-old Cardiff defender Chris Gunter.
