Kings sink the Saints

The pace is hotting up in the Standard 1st XV super league. Two bone-crunching games showed how competitive life in the top 20 is.

King's College Wimbledon tackled ferociously in the last minutes of their Daily Mail cup match to keep out one of the favourites, St Paul's from Barnes. With most of the school screaming from the touchlines, KCS emerged with a 12-6 win against the team who reached the final at U15 stage.

At Wellington College, previous league leaders Epsom were brought down to earth, losing 16-13. Wellington are now second behind a rampant St Benedict's who whipped a Saffron Walden team that planned a training trip to Italy for the Cup match.
