Kylie's top of the jukeboxes
16 September 2003
The Aussie singer beat Shania Twain into second place in the first official round-up of top jukebox tunes.
Minogue's chart-topper Can't Get You Out Of My Head - also the most played track on UK radio last year - topped the list for 2002, compiled by the Performing Rights Society.
There was also a strong showing from classic rock tracks in the jukebox league with Paint It Black still proving popular at number 8, despite being released 37 years ago.
Other well-loved rock tracks which have had punters parting with loose change included Layla by Derek And The Dominoes (9) and Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf (10).
Top 10 Jukebox tracks according to Performing Rights Society:
1. Can't Get You Out Of My Head - Kylie Minogue.
2. Man I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain.
3. Losing My Religion - REM.
4. Yellow - Coldplay.
5. Why Does It Always Rain On Me - Travis.
6. Starlight - Supermen Lovers.
7. Babylon - David Gray.
8. Paint It Black - Rolling Stones.
9. Layla - Derek & The Dominoes.
10. Bat Out Of Hell - Meatloaf.
