Figures released today reveal Westminster has the highest survival outcomes and Newham the lowest for all types of the disease including breast, prostate and skin.
The findings are based on one of the largest surveys carried out by the Office for National Statistics of all health care trusts in England.
The research looked at how likely patients were to be alive one year after their cancer had been diagnosed. Overall, the chance of surviving cancer in England has increased in a decade.
The average rate has gone up from 61.8 per cent of patients still living after one year in 1996 to 65 per cent in 2006. The ONS report found that a clear North-South divide still exists.
