Julia Fletcher
THE spokeswoman for Voice for Animals in London has organised a protest today outside City Hall over Ken Livingstone's former career in vivisection.
Demonstrators are urging Londoners to vote for anyone other than Ken. Ms Fletcher said: "We need a Mayor with compassion to run London - not a heartless vivisectionist and animal abuser." Mr Livingstone was a cancer research technician for eight years before qualifying as a teacher in 1973. He has said that when he worked in the laboratory he would intervene if he did not agree with a particular practice.
CAMPAIGN CAPERS
ONE of the little gems of information in Andrew Hosken's new biography of Ken Livingstone is that he never uses email and yet insists on as little clutter in his office as possible.
