His legally-appointed deputy mayor is Richard Barnes, 61. He is leader of the Conservative group of assembly members and has served on the assembly since 2000. He stands in for the Mayor at City Hall meetings in his absence, earning £92,594.
Deputy Mayor for policing is Kit Malthouse who also is currently deputy chair of the Metropolitan Police Authority. A 42-year-old qualified chartered accountant and former deputy leader of Westminster Council he is also cabinet member for finance. Salary: £53, 543.
Ian Clement, the Deputy Mayor for Government Relations was leader of Bexley Council to take up the role. He had been given the authority to make planning decisions but is now tasked with working with all local authorities. Salary: £124,365.
Sir Simon Milton, 47, is Deputy Mayor for policy and planning. He was the leader of Westminster Council but initially refused to step down as a councillor and so remained as an advisor. He has now quit to be a full-time City Hall worker and is expected to earn around £120,000.
