Nathan Campbell: filmed himself at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour
A teenager who filmed himself speeding at more than 140mph has been jailed for what experts described as among the most reckless pieces of driving they had ever seen.
The court heard how Campbell had used his mobile phone's video camera feature to film his driving and record his speed by filming the dash board dials as he drove his father's Toyota MR 2 sports car.
The court was told by prosecutor Sarah Statham that Campbell drove on the M65 between Colne and Blackburn when he was seen by off duty police officer Michael Holt.
PC Holt saw the MR2 undertake another vehicle using the hard shoulder.
The red MR2 came back onto the motorway forcing anothe rcar to swerve and then went onto undertake several other vehicles.
The PC noted the registration number and a week later the same officer was told about a video clip on YouTube.
The clip showed the MR 2 speedometer at 140 mph but the court was told there may have been a 20 mph fault on it.
