Mother of heart defect girl runs best Facebook charity

A FACEBOOK fundraising campaign for Great Ormond Street Hospital has been praised as one of the best online charity groups.

The social networking site, which has more than 150million users, singled out a campaign run by Lisa King as the best example of a charity using Facebook.

The group was set up after Ms King's daughter Tiana was found to have two heart defects, one of which required immediate surgery at Great Ormond Street.

Since then, Tiana, one, from Norfolk, has had two more life-saving operations at the hospital.

The "Brave Little Tiana Mackay" group, which gives updates on her condition, has more than 1,200 members and has raised over £2,000 for the hospital.
