Mother's pleas after burglars steal precious gold medal footage of son's Beijing triumph

The mother of Olympic rowing gold medalist Zac Purchase has pleaded with burglars to return the camcorder they stole containing pictures of her son's Beijing triumph.
Sara Holyer's home in Plymouth was broken into early on Thursday morning and the camera stolen.

She said: "Credit cards and money were taken. however none of that compares to the video camera which was stolen, the one which contained the footage I took of my son winning an Olympic gold medal."
Purchase and his teammate Mark Hunter grabbed gold in the light-weight men's double sculls on August 14.

The Olympic champion's mother said: "That footage has so much sentimental value to me.
"I appeal to anyone who sees my digital video camera with the footage on, or who knows anything about those who burgled me, to get hold of the police as soon as possible."
