Mugger jailed for attacks on 13 women

A mugger who robbed 13 women including six with children and one who was pregnant has been jailed indefinitely.

Selemani Muboyayi, 29, admitted preying on his victims as they were "easy targets" and "men would fight back".

The Congolese crack cocaine addict laughed when his sentence was passed. He has a string of previous convictions for robbery and must serve 40 months before he can apply to a parole board for release.

Muboyayi struck in the Broadway Market and Mare Street area of Hackney, between December last year and March. He punched Richlove Johnson to the floor and tipped over the pram carrying her 10-month-old child on 30December last year.

Muboyayi, of no fixed address, suffers from schizophrenia and was told at Snaresbrook crown court that he may never be released.
