Forensic experts made a positive match after more than two weeks of tests on the victim's clothes and samples taken from Rudy Hermann Guede, 20.
The DNA was found on the clasp of the bra, which detectives say was "ripped off" the 21-year-old Leeds University student.

Arrest: Guede on return to Italy
Police already knew Guede, a former basketball player, was at the murder flat in Perugia, Italy, because his bloodied fingerprint was found on a pillow and matched previous records for a drugs offence. He claims he tried to revive Meredith - who was found semi-naked and with her throat cut seven weeks ago - after she was attacked by a "short" Italian man.
Guede fled but was picked up on a train in Germany and extradited to Italy.
Perugia prosecutor Giuliano Mignini said yesterday: "His version of events is full of lies and contradictions.
Victim: Meredith Kercher was murdered while studying in Italy
"His DNA is on the victim and on the bra."
Guede is suspected of killing Meredith, from Coulsdon, Surrey, along with her American flatmate Amanda Knox, 20, and Knox's boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 24.
Knox, who styled herself Foxy Knoxy on her Facebook page, has again protested her innocence, this time in a 100-page diary leaked from her prison cell.
Speaking of Meredith, who was in Italy for a year's study, she claimed: "We were all happy together... she was always a good friend for me."
