Mystery of wealthy widow in cliff death plunge
06 July 2007
Des Campbell told investigators that 49-year-old Janet Campbell had fallen from the 120ft cliff after "going for a pee" during the night.
The former English police officer did not attend his wife's funeral but went on a holiday with one of his three girlfriend's a week later.
At the inquest Adam Wilson, a former friend of Campbell's, spoke of how he boasted of "s***ing sluts" and preying on rich and vulnerable women.

Des Campbell and Janet Cambell (left) had been married for just six months when her body was found at the bottom of a cliff
A number of ex-girlfriend's including a British woman who flew from the UK to testify, spoke of being enticed by the "manipulative" and "charming" 48-year-old who then fleeced them out of thousands of dollars.
June Ingram told Glebe coroners court that Campbell proposed to her over the phone six years ago.
She moved to Australia to be with him but he was "enraged" to discover that she had only received $66,000 in a divorce settlement.
She then bought him a house which he sold while she was out of the country, before breaking up with her by text message. Campbell's sister-in-law told how he referred to his wife as a "fat, ugly, dumb bitch" but "filthy rich" after inheriting her late husband's estate.

A few days after her death in 2005, Campbell made inquiries about her will and begun plans to sell their home.
He then withdrew $70,000 (£30,000) from their mortgage account and travelled to the Philippines to meet a woman he had met through an online dating service.
The woman has since become his fourth wife and they have two children together.
Australian-born Campbell left the Surrey police force in disgrace after a woman whom he had met while discussing a domestic violence complaint, accused him of sexually assaulting her.
He then returned to Australia, to work as an ambulance officer where he met Janet Fisicaro, who a family lawyer described as a "pleasant, naive but simple woman."
The inquest heard that Campbell's brother, Neil, believed that he had killed Janet, allegedly telling his wife: "I just have to come to terms with the fact that my brother's a murderer.
"It's in everything he says, it's in everything he does". The inquest continues.
