New 'umbrella' art installation at Wapping

13 November 2007
The arts venue, in a former power station, teamed up with Veuve Clicquot to produce the brollies, above, which are the same yelloworange as that used on bottles of the champagne.
Goldsmiths art college student Sam Spenser created the work, named Bloom, which can be seen in an oak tree outside the Wapping Project.
There is also a five-minute film called In Search Of 137C by Martin Scanlan and a work by Richard Wilson, whose last Wapping Project installation was Butterfly, a sea of sump oil now in the collection of Charles Saatchi.
Yellow 1877 runs from tomorrow until 21 December.
