Obama: I still smoke ... but not in front of kids

Barack Obama has admitted he has not completely given up smoking.

After signing an anti-tobacco Bill, which will restrict cigarette marketing that is targeted at the young, the US President confirmed he still has the occasional smoke but never in front of his daughters Malia, 10, and eight-year-old Sasha.

"There are times where I mess up," Mr Obama said at a White House news conference. "Look, I've said before that as a former smoker I constantly struggle with it.

"Have I fallen off the wagon sometimes? Yes. Am I a daily smoker, a constant smoker? No. I don't do it in front of my kids."

He added: "The new law that was put in place is not about me It's about the next generation of kids coming up."

Mr Obama refused to say how many cigarettes he smokes or how often he lights up in the White House.
