OJ 'robbery' victim tried to sell his clothes to family of man he was accused of killing

The memorabilia dealer who claimed OJ Simpson robbed him at gunpoint had tried to sell the disgraced star's clothing to the family of the man he was accused of killing.

The twist in the alleged raid was revealed by Fred Goldman, whose son Ron was allegedly killed by the American footballer in 1994 alongside Simpson's ex-wife Nicole.

Simpson told police he confronted Alfred Beardsley in a Las Vegas hotel room after discovering he was trying to sell the suit he wore in court when acquitted of the killings.

Mr Goldman said Beardsley contacted him two months ago about buying the suit.

He said: "There was no way to verify it (was genuine) so we just backed away." Simpson admits taking memorabilia but denies using guns.

He told police: "It's stolen stuff that's mine."

Police captain James Dillon said the authorities are trying to sort out who owned the items.

Nicole's family have accused the Goldmans of making "blood money" by releasing Simpson's book on the killings.

They won the rights to it in a bankruptcy court after a £17million wrongful-death judgment against Simpson.

It has sold 150,000 copies in just two days.
