Part-timers’ City pay rise

An Evening Standard investigation reveals how their salaries have exploded in the past five years for roles often requiring no more than two days' work a week, and irrespective of the performance of the firms they oversee.

David Ellis, head of corporate governance at shareholder lobby group Pirc, said: "The chairmen's remuneration requires the fullest possible explanation."
