Pregnant Ulrika 'at ease' over different fathers for kids
30 October 2007
The 40-year-old television presenter is 10 weeks pregnant with her fiancé, Brian Monet, a 39-year-old advertising executive she met in her native Sweden.
Jonsson had said she did not want any more children after three stressful pregnancies and a string of failed relationships - including Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Jonsson had her first child, Cameron, 13, with cameraman husband John Turnbull. Her daughter Bo, seven, was born during a brief relationship with German hotel manager Markus Kempen, who walked out two weeks after her birth. Bo was diagnosed at 20 weeks with a heart defect.
Her third child, three-year-old Martha, was fathered by Lance Gerrard-Wright, whom she married in 2003. Their marriage ended two years later.
Jonsson, whose fiancé has always wanted a child, told Hello! magazine: "This was very much a planned pregnancy.
"But in all honesty, at my age, coupled with the stress I suffered last year, I was pretty doubtful if it would happen. I always maintained I didn't want any more. Sometimes you develop another way of thinking.
"In my experience pregnancy puts a big pressure on a relationship. But despite my feelings of caution and pessimism, this is kind of a dream come true for me." She is relaxed that her children have different fathers.
"I used to think about it, but now I'm utterly at ease with the fact that that is how my life has panned out. I have three amazing, beautiful children. The fact that relationships with their fathers didn't work is not solely my responsibility."
