Ramos has licence to thrill

Juande Ramos spent yesterday promoting a new video game in Madrid. So sure were the makers of his status and ability within football that they decided to put his image on the front of the Spanish version of Football Manager 2008.

Sadly for EA Sports, he won't be in the country for much longer after changing his mind about joining Spurs. Ramos may make them wait until the end of the season but the indication is that he has decided to leave Seville.

One commentator in Spain described Ramos's change of heart this morning as "astonishing" and there is no doubt that the man who is living proof that winning and entertaining can go hand in hand will be missed.

Many believe Sevilla were the best team in Spain last year but this season has been a different story. They have lost a little momentum in La Liga and the untimely death of winger Antonio Puerta has hit the club hard.

Ramos is believed to be unhappy that there three Champions League games at home have not been sell-outs and wanted the club to move on after Puerta's death.

The fans have been falling silent for the heart attack victim in the 16th minute of every match and when Ramos urged them to stop some reacted badly.

The 53-year-old has won five trophies with Sevilla, two UEFA Cups, the 2006 European Super Cup, the 2007 Copa del Rey and the 2007 Spanish Supercopa.

He has produced a thrilling team that has relied on products of the club's famed youth academy. President Jose Maria del Nido is a tough negotiator, though, and will doubtless strike a hard bargain with Spurs before letting his man go.
