How wrong he was.
Instead of agreeing to a date, Lucy Holland forwarded his website link to a colleague. And within days it had multiplied in cyberspace, turning 25-year-old Mr Sullivan into an international figure of fun.
Scroll down for more ...
Peter Sullivan thought she'd be impressed by his six-pack and Stetson
He was forced to remove most of the photographs and bizarre homespun philosophy from his site, petersullivan.co.uk, after it received more than 20,000 visits in one day.
Mr Sullivan is based at a business centre in Islington, North London, where Miss Holland works on the front desk for a property investment firm. Asking her out on a date, he e-mailed her saying: "Before you make a choice, I wanted to give you a chance to check out my website. Tell me what you think. P."
The site showed pictures of a semi-naked Mr Sullivan displaying his rippling muscles while wearing a cowboy hat.
In another he was pictured sitting astride a motorbike, kickboxing, doing the splits and with his arm around a stunning blonde.
And in an apparent attempt to show he was something of a deep thinker, in a further pearl of wisdom, he wrote: "Unless we have the right teacher in life we will forever crawl within the boundaries delimited by our own ignorance."
Lucy Holland, sadly, was unimpressed and revealed the cheesy website to the world
Miss Holland was unimpressed and forwarded the message to a colleague, saying: "He just e-mailed me (the blond cringer)."
One of the thousands of subsequent recipients wrote: "This is gold - especially check out his personal ethos." Another chortled: "He's got a visit counter on his website. Hee hee - he's going to know he's being mocked."
Mr Sullivan, from Clapham, South London, has claimed that he did not send the message to Miss Holland and it was in fact a prank by a colleague - whom he refused to name.
After removing his photographs from the site, Mr Sullivan posted a message saying: "The website was always intended for family and close friends. Big shout out to the gay community who have shown a disturbing degree of interest in my site. Sorry to disappoint you, I am actually straight."
In another picture he was seen kickboxing
These words were later removed and last night the message read: "I have had to remove the site as the level of hits was growing astronomically and I wasn't completely happy with the content - it was work in progress. I apologise to those individuals who are not lucky enough to receive a personal response to their 'kind' e-mails, text messages and telephone calls I have had from around the world. However, I am sure you will appreciate this level of notoriety does not afford me enough time. Stay posted, there's more to come! Peace."
Mr Sullivan, who gained an NVQ in anatomy and physiology from Oxford & Cherwell College of Further Education, boasts that he has modelled for men's magazines including GQ.
Sullivan was also pictured sitting astride a motorbike, doing the splits and with his arm around a stunning blonde
Miss Holland: "I don't know Peter personally. He told one of the other trainers that he thought I was cute.
"The other trainers were winding him up about it and the website, which is quite cheesy. I don't know if he was serious or not. I have not spoken to him. We want it to blow over now. We don't want anything to happen to our business or the trainer's business."
