Sarah: 'David said he loved me'

Sarah Marbeck today went on Australian television, insisted she did have an affair with David Beckham and claimed to still be in love with the England captain.

And she defended her decision to go public with allegations.

"You know what it is like, you walk into a room and you see someone for the first time and it's not just a stranger, there is sparks, it was like magic, you can't take your eyes off each other," the 29-year-old told Channel Nine's 'A Current Affair' about their first meeting in Singapore.

"I never believed in love at first sight, but as soon as I met him I was like, that does happen, love at first sight."

Asked whether Beckham had said he loved her, Marbeck claimed: "Yes he did. It was so powerful, it was so intense, it was so amazing that I couldn't even look at another man."

Marbeck, who worked as a high-class prostitute in Sydney before leaving for Singapore, denied claims she was only interested in fame and money.

"I don't believe in talking in graphic detail about what happens between two people when they are together," she said.

"I haven't described every detail to the paper. I am not obsessed with celebrity and wealth."

Marbeck explained that she kept records of the "hundreds" of text messages she claims to have received from Beckham because "I was getting text messages from someone so powerful and romantic and someone so great. I have got three diaries".

Marbeck said she was hurt when Beckham stopped contacting her after their second alleged meeting, which followed England's international against Italy in Leeds.

"I have waited three years and been really loyal to him," she said.

"I hadn't heard from him in a year. Then in August last year he rang me out of the blue to see how I was. I wasn't really nice to him.

"I never wanted any trouble out of this. I fell in love with someone. I was loyal to that person, I kept the secret for two or three years."

She added: "It upset me when he got that Parent of the Year award in Spain. You read things like that and you go 'unbelievable, you are so bad'."

In tears, she went on: "I would just like to ask him why he stopped calling me."
Marbeck said she was "pretty upset" that Beckham had denied any affair.

Of his wife Victoria, she said: "I would be really, really upset (if I was her)."

"He said she had found some of the messages. I tried to ask him but he changed the subject and I respected that."

Marbeck insisted she had only worked as an escort in Sydney for "two or three" months before leaving Australia for Singapore.
