Shot Camden boy, 17, dies in hospital

A teenager shot in the back of the head in what police suspect was a gang attack has died, police said today. The 17-year-old, shot near his home in Camden on Saturday, was named today as Sharmaarke Hassan.

He had been fighting for life under armed police guard in hospital but was declared dead last night. A post mortem examination will be held today at St Pancras mortuary. A female resident of Gilbeys Yard, where Hassan was found, said drug dealers were starting to congregate in the area.
