Sky subscriber who cancelled his service receives 510 letters

The letters all said the same thing: they urged Jason Zudthipunmare, who ended the contract on behalf of his mother, Ladtana, to set up a direct debit. They arrived in piles over 28 days. On one day, 20 June, the postman delivered 194 letters at the same time.
There were so many that most were left on the doorstep. Jason, 16, from Hackney, said: "I couldn't open the door. The step was overloaded. It was crazy. My contract ended in February, after which you can give 30 days' notice to cancel services.
"I gave them the notice on 23 May and it was cancelled on 23 June. But I still kept getting the letters in batches. I didn't even request to set up a direct debit - I think it was my cancellation which made Sky send 510 letters."
He added that he was thinking of sending all the letters back.
A Sky spokeswoman said: "We have investigated Ms Zudthipunmare's complaint and identified an unfortunate error with our system which did trigger a high volume of letters being mistakenly sent out.
"We have had no other reports of this happening to other customers and would like to offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience."
