Snake poison face cream will vipe out the wrinkles

New face cream Synake has the effects of Botox without the needles
Scientists have created a face cream that mimics the paralysing effect of snake poison to smooth out wrinkles.

The makers of Defy Time say it acts like venom from the Brazilian temple viper, freezing facial muscles.

Unlike Botox, it does not have to be injected but is applied morning and night with "remarkable" results.

The synthetic venom, called Synake, is already used in the U.S., where Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Kingsley are said to be fans. It will go on sale at High Street stores including John Lewis and Liberty in May, costing about £50 a pot.

Belinda Murray, 48, a therapist from London who tested it, said: "I am not sure I would have bought it if I had just seen it on the shelf.

"It was a strange sensation and left my skin tingling - but I have never tried anything like it.

"The difference was remarkable within a short space of time."

However, Harley Street cosmetic surgeon Apostolos Gaitanis warned: "The use of synthetic venom in cosmetics needs more exploration in my opinion."
